Job Description

The Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for delivering high-quality nursing care to a designated group of patients during their shift. This includes providing care through the therapeutic use of the nursing process in collaboration with other healthcare team members. The RN will assess and interpret patient data to identify patient needs, particularly those specific to their age and developmental stage. This role encompasses functioning as a primary RN in Triage, the Main Emergency Department, and Fast Track. The RN may also be floated to other areas of the hospital as directed by hospital leadership and is expected to adhere to the same high standards of care and safety while following the guidance of the Charge Nurse in those assignments.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the Emergency Department.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Conduct patient assessments and develop nursing care plans.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
• Participate in patient education and discharge planning.

Required Experience

• Current New Mexico or multi-state Registered Nurse license.
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications required.
• One year of Medical Surgical experience preferred.
• Emergency and/or critical care experience preferred.

Certifications/Licensure

• Current New Mexico or multi-state Registered Nurse license.
• BLS (AHA)
• ACLS (AHA)
• PALS (AHA)
• TNCC certification.
