Job Description
The Registered Nurse in the Emergency Room provides both direct and indirect patient care in an acute care setting. Ideal candidates should demonstrate initiative, flexibility, and responsibility while maintaining minimal supervision. The role involves accurately triaging patients and determining priorities of care based on physical and psychosocial needs, alongside management factors influencing patient flow. Effective communication with Emergency Department physicians regarding changes in patient status, symptomatology, and diagnostic study results is critical.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct and indirect care to patients in the emergency care setting.
- Demonstrate safe, rapid, and accurate triage skills.
- Assess and determine patient care priorities based on diverse needs.
- Communicate effectively with physicians regarding patients' conditions and treatments.
- Respond promptly to changes in patient conditions and treatment responses.
Required Experience
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Experience in an emergency care setting preferred.
Certifications/Licensure
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
- Additional emergency care certifications are a plus.
