Job Description

The Medical Lab Scientist will provide laboratory services in a busy and fast-paced environment. Responsibilities include performing quality and timely laboratory tests for inpatients and outpatients, effectively communicating test results, and addressing any questions from clinical staff. This role may require floating to different areas within the laboratory as needed and assisting with special procedures for a diverse patient population.

Responsibilities

• Conduct laboratory tests accurately and efficiently.
• Communicate test results and delays in patient care to nursing and medical staff.
• Assist with technical questions from clinical lab assistants, physicians, and nurses.
• Adhere to safety and quality control standards.
• Be flexible and adaptable to departmental needs, including holidays and call shifts.

Required Experience

2 years of experience as a Medical Lab Scientist is required, with at least one prior travel assignment of 13 weeks.

Certifications / Licensure

• Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) (ASCP) certification required.
• Nevada state license preferred.
