3 x 12 hour night shifts per week, typically from 5 PM to 5 AM. Open to blocked scheduling for weekends (Friday to Sunday) with every other weekend required.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department provides direct nursing care as per the established policies, procedures, and protocols of the organization. The RN plays a crucial role in coordinating patient care within the interdisciplinary team and offers patient education to ensure safe discharge.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily rounds on all patients, ensuring quality customer service.
• Develop and implement individualized patient care plans addressing physical, psychological, and social needs.
• Assess and monitor patients' conditions, responding promptly to changes and initiating emergency measures when necessary.
• Document pertinent observations and ensure timely communication with the healthcare team.
• Initiate discharge planning and provide necessary education to optimize patient understanding and outcomes.
• Complete incident reports accurately and promptly prior to the end of each shift.

Certifications / Licensure

• Registered Nurse license from the North Dakota Board of Nursing or Compact State Agreement (required prior to start date).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
• Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) completion upon course qualification.
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
