Registered Nurse - 3x12 D/N Rotation

Job Description

The Registered Nurse provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols of the organization. The nurse maintains the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on the assigned unit. The nurse facilitates the coordination of patient care within the interdisciplinary care team and provides patient education to ensure safe patient discharge.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily rounds on all patients, assuring quality customer service and coordinating actions on unmet requirements.
• Develop a comprehensive plan of care based on assessment reflecting the patient's physical, psychological, social, educational, developmental, and rehabilitative needs.
• Assess patient condition and nursing needs, set goals, and prescribe appropriate nursing actions to meet those goals.
• Manage self-reported symptoms of pain promptly and take appropriate action.
• Identify early warning signs of patient condition changes and respond appropriately, including contacting responsible clinicians.
• Assist with or initiate emergency measures for sudden adverse developments in patient conditions.
• Document and report pertinent observations and reactions regarding patients accurately and concisely.
• Establish and maintain communication with patients and significant individuals, utilizing educational opportunities.
• Begin discharge planning and appropriate education and counseling based on identified needs as early as possible.
• Delegate nursing interventions to qualified personnel as per scope of practice.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to meet departmental needs.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Registered Nurse | North Dakota Board of Nursing or Compact State Agreement (prior to start date).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) (prior to start date).
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from the AHA (prior to start date).
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification from the American Academy of Pediatrics (RQI Partners) (prior to start date).
• Completion of STABLE certification (prior to start date).

Schedule

This position requires a 3x12 Day/Night rotation.
