Schedule / Shift

This position requires working 3-12 hour shifts per week from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Candidates must work every other weekend, including both Saturday and Sunday, and be available to work on Christmas or New Year's Day.

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our 3W Stepdown Unit. The unit consists of 28 private beds and provides care for heavy cardiac patients, including those with dysrhythmias and CVAs, as well as a mix of other conditions downgraded from the ICU. Nurses will work closely with a charge nurse and may have to read and interpret telemetry strips.

Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively with a team to provide high-quality patient care.
• Titrate drips including Cardizem, Nitro, Dopamine, Dobutamine, and Heparin.
• Administer medications and monitor patient vitals.
• Provide patient education and support for families.
• Participate in shifts with a preceptor during orientation.

Required Experience

Experience in cardiology or stepdown units is preferred.

Certifications / Licensure

• Current RN license to practice.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
