Rotating shifts: Day 3x12-Hour (07:00 - 19:00) and Night 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:00).

Every other weekend and every other holiday are required.

Job Description

We are seeking a Registered Nurse for a medical geriatric psychiatric unit. The position involves rotating between the Medical Surgical unit and the Senior Transitions Unit (STU), a locked unit that provides psychiatric assistance alongside medical treatment for patients aged 55 and above. The focus will be on psychiatric care, medication adjustments, and safe discharge planning while ensuring comprehensive medical treatment when necessary.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care in a medical geriatric psychiatric setting.
• Assist with medication management and adjustments as directed by a psychiatrist.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Conduct assessments and monitor patient conditions regularly.
• Ensure safe and effective discharge planning for patients.

Required Experience

A minimum of 1 year of nursing experience is required. Previous charge experience is preferred.

Certifications / Licensure

• Active PA or Compact RN license is required.
• BLS and NIHSS certifications are required.
