Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse with neuro experience to join our Neuroscience unit. The ideal candidate will be comfortable with various neurology diagnoses, including NIH stroke scale assessments and management of neurosurgery patients. This position requires flexibility, as the nurse will float between different units. We need support during the Christmas holiday, and the nurse must be willing to commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays.
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to neurology and neurosurgery patients.
- Perform assessments and implement care plans in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams.
- Utilize the NIH stroke scale effectively and document patient progress using Epic.
Required Experience
- Minimum of 1 year of registered nursing experience, preferably in neurology.
- Experience with telemetry is required.
Certifications / Licensure
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
- NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale) certification.
