Job Description
The role involves providing comprehensive nursing care to patients in the Emergency Department, handling a diverse range of cases including stroke, sepsis, trauma, myocardial infarction (MI), cardiac arrest, and respiratory failure. Nurses are expected to have experience with pediatric patients and be able to provide care to all assigned patients, including SANE (Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner) cases.
Nurses will utilize specialized equipment such as Rapid Infusor and Arctic Sun to manage patient care effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide patient assessment and care in a timely manner.
- Administer medications and drips, including pressors and vasodilators.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to implement patient care plans.
- Monitor vital signs and evaluate patient responses to interventions.
- Document patient care accurately in an electronic medical record (EMR) system, specifically EPIC.
- Participate in floating to different units as necessary.
Required Experience
- Must have at least 2 years of experience in an Emergency Department.
- Pediatric experience is required.
- Documented travel nursing experience is mandatory.
Certifications / Licensure
- Current AHA certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS, TNCC.
- Active New York RN license with NURSYS report for verification.
- Driver's license matching the address demographics.
