Job Description

As a vital member of the surgical team, you will assist during surgical procedures by ensuring and maintaining the integrity of a sterile surgical field and providing necessary instrumentation. Your role is crucial in delivering high-quality patient care within the operating room environment, functioning under the direction of a Registered Nurse.

Responsibilities

• Possess expertise in sterile and aseptic techniques, human anatomy, and surgical procedures.
• Maintain and check all surgical items for proper packaging, processing, and expiration dates.
• Monitor the sterile field for contamination and notify the surgical team if corrective action is needed.
• Work towards competency in Tier 1 surgical cases.
• Assist in patient transports, room turnovers, and preparation for surgical procedures.
• Model effective communication with the perioperative team throughout the surgical process.
• Clean and prepare instruments for terminal sterilization.

Required Experience

Completion of a Certified Surgical Technologist program and/or Licensed Surgical Technologist.

Certifications / Licensure

• Licensed as a Surgical Technologist in the state of Colorado.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by the American Heart Association.
