This position requires working night shifts, specifically on a 3x12 hour schedule from 19:00 to 07:30. Must be open to working weekends, potentially exceeding every other weekend to meet unit needs.
Job Description
The registered nurse will be responsible for providing expert nursing care in the Labor and Delivery unit. The candidate will be expected to perform sterile vaginal exams independently and without supervision while addressing the needs of obstetrical patients. The role involves effective triage, risk assessment, and application of specialized clinical knowledge in labor and delivery practices.
Responsibilities
- Conduct sterile vaginal exams and perform triage as required.
- Provide clinical support during labor and delivery, including assistance with high-risk deliveries.
- Administer medications and therapies as needed for obstetrical patients.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for optimal patient outcomes.
- Document patient care accurately using the Epic charting system.
Required Experience
A minimum of 2 years of experience in labor and delivery nursing is required. Candidates with slightly less experience may be considered based on overall qualifications.
Certifications / Licensure
- Current RN license, compact state preferred.
- ACLS certification.
- AWHONN Advanced certification.
- BCLS certification.
- NRP certification.
