Computed Tomography Technologist (CT Tech)

Varied 12-hour shifts, PRN - 4 days a month including at least one weekend day (Friday, Saturday, or Sunday).

Job Description

The Computed Tomography Technologist coordinates and participates in all computerized tomography scanning procedures. This role involves setting up, monitoring, and operating complex computerized equipment for diagnostic purposes.

Responsibilities

• Set up and monitor CT equipment operations per patient; position and transfer patients safely.
• Provide required patient identification and gather pertinent medical history and known allergies.
• Prepare and inject contrast media intravenously as per radiologist protocols.
• Make and develop images for permanent patient files and record studies for future reference.
• Organize daily patient schedules in collaboration with work-room technicians.
• Maintain image quality and calibrate equipment daily as per department guidelines.
• Manage electronic/digital image capture, storage, transfer, and copying.
• Monitor patients for allergic reactions and respond to emergency medical situations.
• Adhere to safety standards and regulations from the Michigan Department of Public Health.
• Ensure a clean working environment and maintain inventory of supplies.
• Provide instruction to new personnel as needed.
• Assist radiologists with specialized radiological procedures as per department standards.
• Review and record pertinent patient history to assist radiologist diagnosis.
• Participate in quality assessments and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of CT experience required.
• Phillips equipment experience required.
• Preferred traveler experience.
• BLS (AHA) certification required.
• Valid Michigan radiology license verification required.
