MedSurg Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Night shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM, weekdays and weekends.

Job Description

The MedSurg RN will provide care to acute medical-surgical patients on a fast-paced unit. Registered Nurses will be responsible for a range of patient needs and expected to collaborate effectively within an interdisciplinary team. Candidates must demonstrate strong clinical skills and a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to a patient ratio of 1:5-7.
• Administer medications and treatments per protocols.
• Monitor and interpret vital signs and patient data.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to enhance patient outcomes.
• Document patient care and progress accurately in the electronic medical record (Cerner).
• Assist in surgical and invasive procedures as required.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Must have a valid RN license (WV or Compact).
• Minimum of 2 years RN experience in a MedSurg setting.
• Current certifications in BCLS, ACLS, and NIHSS required.
• Experience with Cerner electronic medical records strongly preferred.
• Travel experience is not required but is valued.
