Registered Nurse - CVICU/CVRU

Shift: 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM

Job Description

Join our high-acuity 19-bed mixed CVICU/CVRU unit located on the 3rd floor of the Heart Tower. Our unit provides care for patients undergoing heart surgery, handling approximately 850 surgical hearts annually. We pride ourselves on having a friendly and highly trained staff, with a strong support system including dedicated charge nurses and an educator to guide your orientation.

Responsibilities

• Provide critical care to post-operative heart surgery patients.
• Monitor and manage patients on various devices including ECMO, Impellas, IABP, and LVADs.
• Assist with high acuity procedures including intubation/extubation, hemodynamics, and pulling chest tubes and pacer wires.
• Engage in frequent patient ambulation and recovery practices.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Minimum of 2 years of CVICU or CVRU experience.
• Critical Care training mandatory; certification in Critical Care, Cardiac Surgery, or Recovery Room care preferred.
• Ability to maintain a positive and energetic personality while providing excellent patient care.
