Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse for our Labor and Delivery unit. The candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality care to patients, assisting during deliveries, and managing the unique challenges of obstetrical nursing.

Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor the health and progress of patients during labor and delivery.
• Perform labor and delivery activities including monitoring fetal heart rates, administering medications, and assisting with epidural placements.
• Assist with vaginal and cesarean deliveries, including the use of forceps or vacuum extraction as necessary.
• Provide care in the PACU for patients recovering from spinal anesthesia.
• Conduct triage assessments for antepartum patients.
• Ensure adherence to hospital protocols and maintain patient safety at all times.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Valid RN licensure in the state of Virginia.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required.
• Experience in Labor and Delivery nursing with knowledge of OB medications and strip interpretation.
• Ability to handle IV insertion, lab draws, blood administration, and nitrous administration.
• Must possess strong teamwork skills and a commitment to patient-centered care.
