Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist

Job Description

The Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist performs technical procedures and assists in the clinical evaluation and care of patients in a fast-paced, Level I Trauma and Academic Medical Center. This role requires utilizing specific modalities to create diagnostic images while providing patients with a safe and positive experience. Technologists are expected to support teaching and continue learning as technology evolves. The position involves performing CT exams on various patient types, including trauma and emergency room patients, outpatients, inpatients (stable and intensive care), and those requiring specialized CT scan-guided procedures. Additionally, the CT Technologist must practice and enforce radiation safety measures as per New York State Department of Health regulations.

Schedule

Saturday-Monday: 8:00 AM - 8:30 PM with no on-call responsibilities (Three 12-hour shifts)

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Must be a graduate of an approved two-year AMA Radiologic Technology School and a high school graduate.
• New York State Registration in Diagnostic Radiography or possess a limited permit to practice in the State of New York.
• Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
• Current BLS for Healthcare Provider, CPR, or CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer certification.
• Entry-Level: Limited or no experience; MIT Level assigned based on skill set and experience.
