Respiratory Therapist - Night Shift

Night shift, 4x12 hour shifts per week.

Job Description

The Respiratory Therapist provides quality patient care by delivering intensive respiratory care and patient transport in accordance with medical prescriptions and within the scope of professional license, requiring minimal supervision. Responsibilities include evaluating patients and recommending treatment plans, explaining therapies to patients, and educating them upon discharge.

Responsibilities

• Conduct physician prescribed treatments with various ventilatory equipment.
• Administer prescribed medications, humidification, ventilation, and oxygenation.
• Perform chest physiotherapy and suctioning by multiple methods.
• Monitor oximetry and capnography; review chest x-rays.
• Conduct 12-Lead EKG and pulmonary function studies as needed.
• Assist in procedures related to respiratory care, such as bronchoscopy and chest tube placement.
• Perform tracheostomy care and arterial punctures according to policy.
• Follow laboratory testing policies and procedures.
• Perform CPR as per BLS and ACLS guidelines.
• Ensure proper operation and maintenance of mechanical ventilation equipment.
• Document treatment details and communicate findings effectively with medical staff.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

Qualified candidates must possess a valid Respiratory Therapy license and relevant certifications in BLS and ACLS. Prior experience in a clinical setting is highly desirable.
