CVIUC Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00 - 07:00), weekdays and weekends.

Job Description

The CVIUC Registered Nurse will provide high-quality care to patients in a specialized cardiac unit, managing complex cases including fresh open-heart admissions. Candidates must possess strong skills in pressure monitoring and advanced cardiac support devices.

Responsibilities

• Manage direct fresh open-heart admissions from the operating room.
• Monitor patients using Swan-Ganz catheter and manage Impella devices.
• Administer CRRT and care for patients on continuous IV sedation.
• Perform arterial line management and assist with chest tube insertion/removal.
• Administer and monitor non-invasive ventilation (BiPAP/CPAP).
• Interpret arterial blood gases and manage dysrhythmias.
• Provide care for ventilated patients and administer blood products.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience, particularly in a cardiac unit.
• Active RN license in West Virginia or Compact License.
• ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required.
• Experience with CRRT, Impella, Swan-Ganz, and post-operative cardiac care.
