Registered Nurse - Cardiac ICU

12-hour night shifts, weekends as scheduled.

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CVICU). The ideal candidate will provide high-quality care to patients with mixed acuity, including step-down and ICU status patients, with a focus on cardiac conditions.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and assess the condition of patients pre and post cardiac surgery.
• Administer medications and manage IV drips, ensuring accurate titration as needed.
• Provide care for patients on ventilators and manage chest tubes and mediastinal drains.
• Support patients undergoing cardiopulmonary resuscitation and hypothermia protocols.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for comprehensive patient care.
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and post-operative care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current BLS and ACLS certifications are required.
• Experience with fresh open heart patients and post-operative care (min 6 hours post-op).
• Experience with CRRT, temporary pacemakers, and management of acute myocardial infarctions.
• Must have experience with various intravenous medications and titration.
• Experience with hemodynamic monitoring and arterial lines is preferred.
