CT Technologist - Weekend Shift (SAT/SUN/MON)

Job Description

Under the direction of the Radiologist, the CT Technologist performs a variety of radiographic procedures including X-rays and fluoroscopy, and operates a computed tomography (CT) scanner to provide cross-sectional images for diagnostic purposes. This role requires independent judgment to apply ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis, ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout the process.

Responsibilities

• Transport patients according to their physical abilities relating to the exams requested.
• Position and immobilize patients on the examining table using supportive devices.
• Administer contrast media orally and/or via IV as ordered.
• Enter technical data into the scanner computer and start the CT scanner to scan designated areas.
• Monitor patients for safety and comfort during examinations using intercom systems and through observation.
• Ensure the quality of radiographic images and evaluate exams for technical quality.
• Maintain records according to X-ray Department policies and procedures.
• Practice sterile techniques and Universal Precaution.
• Assist in special procedures as needed.
• Clean examination rooms and restock linens and supplies as required.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Two years of previous experience preferred.
• Satisfactory completion of formal radiology technology training in an AMA approved school.
• Registered by the ARRT and certified as a CT Technologist required.
• BLS Certification Required.

Physical Demands

Considerable walking, standing, bending, and squatting are required. The role also includes the need to reach forward and overhead, and involves moving and lifting patients and equipment (40 lbs. to 80 lbs. unassisted and up to 250 lbs. with assistance).
