Job Description

The Cardiac Catheterization Lab provides care to both acute inpatient and elective outpatient populations. Staff is available 24/7 for emergency procedures. As a Registered Nurse in this department, you will work with an interdisciplinary team of specialized physicians, nurses, radiology technologists, and cardiovascular technologists.

Responsibilities

• Position and immobilize patients on examining tables according to specified protocols.
• Continuously assess patient hemodynamics.
• Administer conscious sedation and manage IV/IC infusions and boluses.
• Alert physicians to any changes in patient responses.
• Assist physicians during interventional procedures and manage recovery of patients to Phase I.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• 2 years or more of current Cath Lab experience.
• 2+ years of experience in cardiac diagnostic and interventional procedures.
• Moderate Sedation Certification is highly preferred.
• Cath and peripheral experience, including STEMI and STEMI call experience, is required.
• Proficiency in interpreting EKG and hemodynamic pressure tracings.
• Conscious sedation and IV experience are mandatory.
• EP experience is highly preferred.
• Current New York State RN License, ACLS, and BLS certifications.
