Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

An emergency is a serious symptom or medical condition that is caused by an illness or injury. The emergency department operates 24/7, as patients may arrive at any time. It is crucial to consider the seriousness of the condition and symptoms when deciding to seek treatment. Situations that require immediate care in an emergency department include, but are not limited to:

• Symptoms of a stroke, including sudden numbness in an extremity
• Symptoms of a heart attack, including chest pain and/or shortness of breath
• Seizures or loss of consciousness
• Severe injuries, such as fractures or head trauma
• Vomiting or coughing up blood
• Deep cuts or bleeding that won’t stop
• Severe burns
• Severe abdominal pain

Schedule

This position offers 12-hour shifts from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM, with a guarantee of 36 hours per week. Availability is required every other weekend.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• 2+ years of RN emergency department experience - Required
• TNCC certification - Required
• Current ACLS certification
• BLS (AHA) certification
• PALS (AHA) certification
• Active Michigan state nursing license
