Registered Nurse - Emergency Department

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

6:00 AM - 6:30 PM, 12-hour shifts with a guarantee of 36 hours per week. Every other weekend required.

Job Description

An emergency is a serious symptom or medical condition caused by an illness or injury. Emergency departments operate 24/7, as patients may arrive at any time of the day or night. For severe injuries or medical conditions, treatment in an emergency room is crucial. Conditions requiring care in an emergency department include:

• Symptoms of a stroke, including sudden numbness in an extremity
• Symptoms of a heart attack, including chest pain and/or shortness of breath
• Seizures or loss of consciousness
• Severe injuries, such as fractures or head trauma
• Vomiting or coughing up blood
• Deep cuts or bleeding that won't stop
• Severe burns
• Severe abdominal pain

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• 2+ years of RN Emergency Department experience - REQUIRED
• TNCC certification - NOT ENPC - REQUIRED
• ACLS certification
• BLS (AHA) certification
• PALS (AHA) certification
• State license: Michigan
