Night shift: 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM.

Job Description

The Medical Surgical Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is responsible for providing delegated aspects of direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. The role requires critical thinking and scientific judgment to ensure the safe delivery of care. The LPN will maintain clinical competencies and provide guidance to other staff in patient care delivery.

Responsibilities

• Perform physical examinations and gather patient data.
• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs).
• Educate patients on their care and health management.
• Administer medications and manage peripheral IV therapy.
• Oversee discharge planning and implement physician orders.
• Document patient care and progress accurately.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current LPN/LVN license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
• IV certification is preferred.
• Experience with Cerner software is preferred.
• Permanent address must be 50+ miles from the facility.
