Emergency Department Registered Nurse (ED RN) - Pediatric Experience Required

6:30 AM to 7:00 PM, Day shift with a block scheduling format (not guaranteed).

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Emergency Department Registered Nurse to provide high-quality care to a diverse patient population, including newborns, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics. The ED features a total of 64 beds, including trauma and specialized care sections.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care in a fast-paced emergency department environment.
• Assess, triage, and manage patients with critical conditions such as stroke, sepsis, trauma, myocardial infarction, cardiac arrest, and respiratory failure.
• Utilize specialty equipment, including Rapid Infusor and Arctic Sun, to deliver effective care.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes.
• Be prepared to float to various areas within the emergency department as required.
• Engage in care of sexual assault patients as per SANE (Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner) guidelines.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Active RN license in New York State.
• Current AHA certifications in ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC (TNCC must be in hand).
• At least 2 years of experience in Emergency Department nursing, with pediatric experience.
• Proven travel experience is required; local applicants (within 75 miles) are welcome.
• Skills Checklist must be matched to the specialty.
• Familiarity with electronic medical records, specifically EPIC.
• Current NURSYS Report for license verification.
