Registered Nurse - Cardiac Care ICU

Schedule

This position requires a 12-hour day shift, scheduled 3 days a week from 7 AM to 7 PM.

Job Description

The Cardiac Care ICU is a highly specialized 20-bed unit providing care for patients undergoing a variety of open-heart, vascular, and thoracic surgeries. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years of recent experience in the cardiac care specialty and be comfortable working with advanced medical devices such as intra-aortic balloon pumps, Impella, CRRT, and epicardial pacemakers.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill cardiac patients.
• Monitor and evaluate patient conditions, making adjustments to treatment plans as necessary.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
• Collaborate effectively with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and health management.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in Cardiac ICU.
• Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• CCRN and NIHSS certifications preferred.

Holiday Expectations

Must be available to work 2 major holidays (Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Year's Day) and 1 minor holiday (Day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, New Year's Eve).
