Registered Nurse (RN) - Day Shift

Day Shift: 3x12.0 hours per week.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for maintaining the delivery of quality care by ensuring that the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants, while also mentoring new staff.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission to develop individualized care plans.
• Identify patient/family teaching needs related to diagnoses and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team.
• Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and timely in the medical record.
• Participate in the patient rehabilitation program and provide direct patient care utilizing the nursing process.
• Initiate discharge planning at the time of admission and conduct patient teaching in anticipation of discharge.
• Communicate pertinent patient status changes to care providers to ensure continuity and safety of care.
• Provide training and supervision to ancillary nursing personnel; delegate tasks appropriately.
• Ensure personal and environmental safety according to hospital policies and procedures.
• Contribute positively to the functioning of the unit and participate in team-building activities.
• Maintain communication with management regarding service supplies and clinical training needs.
• Assume charge responsibilities as requested.
• Pursue professional development through education and self-study.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
• ACLS certification required for CIRH ONLY prior to first shift.
• Minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience is required.
