Registered Nurse - Cardiac Telemetry Unit

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

12-hour night shifts from 18:45 to 07:15, with a weekend schedule of Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Job Description

We are seeking a Registered Nurse to join our Cardiac Telemetry Unit. This is a challenging and fast-paced environment, focused on providing exceptional care to patients with cardiac and stroke conditions. Nurses will be responsible for managing a variety of cardiac drips and telemetry monitoring, working collaboratively with a dedicated team to ensure high-quality patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Manage pre and post procedure care for cardiac patients, including those with pacemakers and catheterizations.
• Run multiple intravenous drips such as Cardizem, Dopamine, and Amiodarone.
• Monitor telemetry for stable patients and handle emergencies as required.
• Assist with admissions and discharges, ensuring effective communication and documentation.
• Participate in patient turnover, managing a 5-6 patient assignment and expecting high patient turnover weekly.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar fast-paced cardiac telemetry or stepdown unit.
• Experience with telemetry and intravenous medication management is essential.
• Current ACLS, BCLS, and NIHSS certifications are required.
• A valid RN license is required; NC or compact license pending acceptance.
