Emergency Department Registered Nurse

12-hour evening shifts, 10:30 AM - 11:00 PM.

Job Description

This position is for an Emergency Department (ED) Registered Nurse responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a busy ED environment. Nurses in this role will care for a diverse patient population that includes newborns, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics. The unit consists of 64 beds, including 2 triage, 40 acute, 6 super track, 2 trauma, 10 CDU, and 6 psych beds.

Responsibilities

• Provide emergency care to patients with diagnoses such as stroke, sepsis, trauma, myocardial infarction, cardiac arrest, and respiratory failure.
• Administer medications and manage required drips, including pressors, vasodilators, and anti-arrhythmic medications.
• Utilize advanced specialty equipment like Rapid Infusor and Arctic Sun.
• Demonstrate charge nurse capabilities, highly preferred but not mandatory.
• Participate in floating to other units as needed, adhering to facility protocols.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years experience in the Emergency Department with pediatric experience preferred.
• Current AHA certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC are required.
• Active New York State RN license and NURSYS report for license verification.
• Documentation of travel experience is required.
• Experience with EMR systems, specifically EPIC.
