Post Partum RN - Night Shift

This is a night shift position with a 3x12 hour schedule from 19:00 to 07:30.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Job Description

The Post Partum RN will provide high-quality nursing care to mothers and newborns following delivery. The nurse will work collaboratively within the healthcare team to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the care of patients in the postpartum unit.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications and assist with breastfeeding education.
• Provide post-operative care for cesarean sections and manage complications such as postpartum hemorrhage.
• Conduct assessments for newborns, including metabolism screening and hypoglycemia checks.
• Provide patient and family education on postpartum care, including discharge instructions.
• Assist with circumcision and care of the surgical site post-operation.
• Monitor and assess maternal health and newborn conditions regularly.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• 2 years of postpartum nursing experience preferred.
• Current certifications in BLS and NRP are required.
• Experience with the Epic charting system is preferred.
• Willingness to float to similar units as needed.
