Maternal Child Health RN

Job Description

The Maternal Child Health RN is responsible for providing care to patients in Labor & Delivery, Newborn Nursery, Level II Nursery, and Mother-Baby and GYN units. This professional collaborates with the healthcare team to support patients through the therapeutic use of the nursing process, demonstrating knowledge and skills pertinent to maternal and child health. The RN will assess and interpret patient data to identify and meet the age-specific needs of patients, while ensuring a high standard of care and safety.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient-centered care in Maternal Child Health settings.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to deliver comprehensive care.
• Assess and interpret patient data specific to age and developmental needs.
• Function as the primary RN in Labor & Delivery and related units.
• Float to other hospital areas as directed, adhering to departmental guidelines.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current New Mexico or Multi-State RN Licensure.
• Basic Life Support (AHA) certification required upon hire.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (AHA) certification required upon hire.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program certification required upon hire.
• AWOHN Fetal Monitoring certification required upon hire.
• Three years of experience in Labor and Delivery.
• Three years of experience in Nursery.
• Three years of experience in Med-Surg.
• Proficiency with Meditech or comparable EMR documentation preferred.
• Baby Friendly experience preferred; STABLE certification preferred.

Schedule

The position requires working the night shift from 7 PM to 7 AM, with every third weekend required. Block scheduling may be available upon request.
