Job Description

The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to provide exceptional care to critically ill children. This role involves working directly with a diverse group of patients, including those with cardiac conditions, requiring advanced nursing skills and critical thinking.

Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients.
• Monitor patient condition and administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Manage various critical care equipment and monitor vital signs.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Provide education and support to patients and their families.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Active NJ or Compact RN license required at the time of submission.
• 2+ years of PICU critical care experience, with a preference for 1 year of cardiac experience.
• Current certifications: BLS and PALS required.
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and management of central lines.
• Skills in medication administration, telemetry monitoring, and care of ventilated patients.
