Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by ensuring that the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees while embracing the core values of the organization, including delivering superior quality care, treating others with respect, achieving objectives, and being resourceful in overcoming obstacles.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission.
• Identify teaching needs and goals related to each patient's diagnosis.
• Provide accurate and timely documentation of all assessments and interventions.
• Participate in the patient rehabilitation program by utilizing the nursing process.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching from the day of admission.
• Communicate pertinent information regarding changes in patient status.
• Provide direction, training, and supervision of ancillary nursing personnel.
• Ensure personal and environmental safety according to policies and procedures.
• Contribute positively to unit functioning by providing calm direction and support.
• Maintain communication with management regarding service needs.
• Assume charge responsibility as requested after the orientation period.
• Prioritize activities and manage time effectively to meet patient needs.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification required prior to the first shift.
• ACLS certification required prior to the first shift (CIRH ONLY).
• Minimum of two years of bedside clinical experience required.
• Critical care experience required.
• Previous LTAC experience highly desired.
