Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides high-quality care to patients by ensuring adherence to the nursing care plan. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees, emphasizing patient and employee safety throughout all interactions.

Responsibilities

• Conduct nursing assessments for all patients within 8 hours of admission and develop individualized plans of care.
• Identify patient and family teaching needs through collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
• Provide accurate and timely documentation of assessments, interventions, and patient responses.
• Participate in the patient rehabilitation program and ensure effective direct patient care through the nursing process.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient education from the day of admission.
• Communicate significant changes in patient status to facilitate continuity of care.
• Supervise and train ancillary nursing personnel, ensuring effective delegation of tasks.
• Maintain personal and environmental safety in accordance with hospital policies.
• Foster a positive work environment through team-building and communication.
• Assume charge responsibilities as needed and pursue ongoing professional development.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current RN license.
• BLS certification required prior to first shift.
• ACLS certification required prior to first shift (specific listings may apply).
• Minimum of two years of bedside clinical experience is highly desired.
• ICU and critical care experience required.
