Registered Nurse - High Acuity Surgical Step Down Unit

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Shift: 07:00 PM - 07:30 AM, Every Other Weekend; Holiday coverage required, including Thanksgiving and one other winter holiday.

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our high-acuity fast-paced surgical step down unit. This unit is best suited for individuals with an ICU background. The Nurse to Patient ratio is 4:1, sometimes 3:1. The ideal candidate will have experience with various medical devices and administering IV infusions.

Responsibilities

• Manage patient care for individuals recovering from surgical procedures.
• Utilize and monitor medical devices including chest tubes, arterial lines, and PICC lines.
• Administer various IV infusions including Heparin, Insulin, Nitro, Amiodarone, and Cardizem.
• Provide care for ostomies, trachs, NG tubes, wound vacs, and other drains.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop patient care plans.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current RN license.
• Epic experience preferred.
• BCLS certification required.
• Completed health assessment and necessary vaccinations (COVID-19, MMR, Varicella, Tdap, 2 Step PPD or IGRA).
