Job Description

The Oncology Infusion Registered Nurse is a key member of the cancer care team responsible for providing professional oncology nursing care in the Infusion area. This role ensures adherence to Cancer Care policies, nursing procedures, and quality improvement objectives, while prioritizing patient safety and infection control standards.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of health histories.
• Address physician orders and perform in-office procedures.
• Educate patients and families on treatment protocols and cancer symptom management.
• Administer chemotherapy and monitor patients' physical and emotional well-being.
• Maintain continuous communication with patients, relaying necessary information to physicians.
• Provide direct nursing care, including triaging patient care needs.
• Utilize clinical knowledge and decision-making skills to address patient care issues.
• Carry out additional duties as assigned by the Cancer Care Director or Physician Services Senior Leader.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of chemotherapy administration experience.
• EPIC experience is required.
• ONS Fundamentals of Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Administration Certification is required.
