Observation Registered Nurse (RN) - 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM Shift

Job Description

This position requires a knowledgeable Registered Nurse (RN) to assess, implement, and monitor patient care for outpatients assigned to observation status. The RN will provide direct patient care and work collaboratively with a healthcare team to ensure effective treatment plans.

Responsibilities

• Regularly assess patients' needs and provide skilled nursing services as prescribed by the physician's plan of care.
• Administer medications, perform treatments, respond to call lights, assist with transfers, and manage alarms.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of treatment plans and collaborate with team members to update and revise these plans.
• Process physician/provider orders and perform actions accurately and timely.
• Follow up on medication changes and clarify orders as needed.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• 2+ years of experience in an observation setting (required).
• Epic EMR experience (preferred).
• Current Michigan RN license (active status required).
• Active American Heart Association BLS certification (required).
• Two supervisory reference forms completed within the last two years (required).
• Skills checklist relevant to specialty (observation) current within the last year (required).

Schedule

7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, with a 36-hour guarantee. Every other weekend required.
