Job Description

The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurse provides 24/7 care for critically ill and unstable patients. Responsibilities include managing life-support equipment such as ventilators, titrating complex intravenous drips, and interpreting vital signs. The nurse performs comprehensive assessments, administers medications, and collaborates with a multidisciplinary medical team to coordinate advanced patient care.

Responsibilities

• Manage life-support equipment and ventilators.
• Titrate complex intravenous drips according to patient needs.
• Conduct comprehensive head-to-toe assessments of critically ill patients.
• Administer medications as prescribed and oversee patient care.
• Interpret vital signs and respond to changes in patient condition.
• Coordinate care with the multidisciplinary medical team.

Schedule

This position requires a night shift consisting of 12-hour shifts with a 36-hour guarantee.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 1 year of ICU experience (floating not considered).
• EKG experience required.
• Must be willing to float to similar units; Neuro, CVICU, and Trauma experience preferred.
• Management of ventilators, CRRT, and balloon pumps preferred.
• Active Michigan RN license required; verification through LARA and Nursys needed.
• ACLS and BLS certifications required.
