Registered Nurse - MedSurg/Infectious Disease

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

12-hour shifts, specifically 0700-1930 and 1900-0730, with a 1/2 hour lunch break. Weekends as scheduled, every other weekend required.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse in the MedSurg/Infectious Disease unit will provide care for patients with various infectious diseases, including COVID-19, MRSA, and C-Diff. The unit consists of 18 private rooms with a nurse-to-patient ratio typically of 1:5-6, and 1:4 during COVID surges. RNs will be expected to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and will have access to Charge Nurse support 24/7.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in accordance with established protocols.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, including common MedSurg IV medications and antibiotics.
• Monitor patients’ conditions and report any changes to the medical team.
• Maintain isolation precautions and infection control measures.
• Document all patient interactions and updates in the EPIC charting system.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Travel experience required.
• EPIC experience required.
• BLS certification required.
• Strong knowledge in MedSurg and Infectious Disease care.
• Capability to work with isolation precautions and various infectious diseases.
