Histotechnologist - Night Shift

Night shift from Sunday to Thursday, 4:00 PM - 12:30 AM.

Job Description

The Histotechnologist will be responsible for performing histological procedures including grossing, embedding, microtomy, and various staining techniques. The role requires a strong background in hospital clinical laboratory settings, with an emphasis on routine Anatomical Pathology specimens. Knowledge of cytology preparation is also essential.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and specialized histological procedures.
• Prepare specimens for microscopic examination including grossing and embedding.
• Utilize automated and manual staining techniques.
• Ensure quality control in laboratory practices.
• Collaborate with laboratory staff and pathologists.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in a hospital clinical laboratory setting.
• Histotechnologist certification (ASCP-HT) is preferred.
• California state license preferred; pending licenses may be accepted.
• Experience with Epic charting systems is a plus.
