Job Description

The Respiratory Therapy Manager is responsible for the function and professional growth of the department. This role includes providing consultation regarding pulmonary disorders and respiratory therapy practice while ensuring quality respiratory care is delivered.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality patient care, including intensive respiratory care and patient transport.
• Evaluate patients and recommend treatment plans.
• Explain the purpose and procedures of treatments, tests, and equipment to patients.
• Conduct physician prescribed treatments using various ventilatory and respiratory devices.
• Perform chest physiotherapy to promote secretion clearance.
• Administer oximetry and capnography monitoring according to policy.
• Perform reviews of patient's chest x-rays and pulmonary function studies.
• Assist with respiratory care procedures according to policy.
• Record pertinent information of treatments and patient responses in respiratory care records.
• Communicate with attending and pulmonary physicians regarding patient therapy efficiency.
• Maintain accurate respiratory therapy charging and documentation.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Licensed Respiratory Therapist.
• Experience in administering therapeutic interventions and operating ventilatory equipment.
• Knowledge of BLS and ACLS guidelines.
