Cardio-Thoracic ICU Registered Nurse

Assignment Duration

This is a 15-week contract position.

Schedule

Night shift: 3x12 hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:30. Weekend work is required.

Job Description

The Cardio-Thoracic ICU Registered Nurse will provide specialized care to patients recovering from cardiac and thoracic surgeries, including management of mechanical circulatory support and various post-operative interventions. Experience with vents, IV starts, and pulmonary artery line management is required.

Responsibilities

• Manage care for patients post-cardiac and thoracic surgeries.
• Administer medications and monitor vital signs.
• Utilize advanced equipment including IABP and LVADs.
• Conduct assessments and maintain documentation using EPIC.
• Work collaboratively in a fast-paced ICU environment.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Cardio-Thoracic ICU.
• ACLS and BLS certifications required.
• Experience with post-operative care, including lung and heart transplants preferred.
• Travel experience is required.
