Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

3x12-hour shifts, Nights (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM) with a holiday rotation and a requirement for every other weekend.

Job Description

The Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN) will provide high-quality patient care in a stepdown unit, ensuring that patients transition smoothly from higher acuity care to lower acuity settings. Responsibilities include monitoring patients' conditions, administering medication, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to deliver optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and provide care for patients in a stepdown unit.
• Administer medications and manage intravenous therapy.
• Perform patient assessments and document patient progress.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to plan and implement patient care.
• Educate patients and their families on care procedures and health management.
• Ensure compliance with safety and sanitation protocols.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in a stepdown or telemetry unit.
• Current RN license in South Carolina or a Compact State license.
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS; NIHSS certification preferred.
• Experience with Epic charting system is preferred.
