Charge Nurse - Nights

Job Description

The Charge Nurse role assists the Director in the achievement of organizational and department-specific goals and objectives. This position operates in a supportive capacity, acting as a charge nurse, quality management coordinator, and resources for the unit. The Charge Nurse coordinates and directs total nursing care for an assigned group of residents/patients during a specified period of duty by assuming full responsibility for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of resident/patient care.

This role also participates in patient/resident and family teaching, providing leadership by cooperating with ancillary nursing and other resident/patient team members according to established facility/unit and department policies, procedures, and standards. The RN is directly responsible to the Director of Nursing (D.O.N) or their designee and maintains resident/patient privacy and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and direct nursing care for assigned residents/patients.
• Assume full responsibility for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
• Provide patient/resident and family education and support.
• Work cooperatively with nursing and other team members.
• Assist the Director in achieving departmental goals and objectives.
• Maintain compliance with facility policies and standards.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Education: 2-year college degree (Associate's Degree).
• Experience: Minimum of 3 years nursing experience.
• Licensure: Active State of Maine or Compact RN license.
• Certification: BLS required.

Schedule

This position is for night shifts, working from 7 PM to 7 AM.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.
