Operating Room Circulator Nurse – Travel Contract

Schedule

Evenings, 11:00 AM - 7:00 PM, Monday to Friday^*. Weekday call starts at 3 PM to 7 AM, with weekend call shifts from 7 AM to 7 PM or 7 PM to 7 AM.

Job Description

The Operating Room Circulator Nurse provides comprehensive perioperative nursing care across various surgical specialties within a Level III Trauma facility. This role is essential for ensuring patient safety, maintaining regulatory compliance, and facilitating efficient surgical workflows.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage patient care throughout the intraoperative phase.
• Conduct patient assessments and serve as their advocate.
• Prepare for surgical cases and manage equipment and supply inventory.
• Document relevant patient information and handle specimens accurately.
• Administer medications as required throughout surgical procedures.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and surgical teams.
• Ensure adherence to evidence-based practices and sterile technique standards.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• 2+ years of relevant nursing experience required.
• BLS certification required.
• ACLS certification preferred.
• Experience in General Surgery, Orthopedics, Gynecology, Robotics, Urology, Hand Surgery, and Podiatry required.
• Must be registered with the state of New Mexico for fingerprinting.
