This is a 13-week contract position.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) is a clinical practitioner who coordinates and implements patient care specific to the age of the patient population served on the assigned units. The RN ensures that quality care is provided in an efficient and safe manner, consistent with the unit's standards of care, and demonstrates performance in alignment with the mission, philosophy, and goals of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and record initial assessments and establish priorities according to patient age, symptoms, and psychosocial needs.
• Reassess patients systematically to identify progress and trends that require intervention.
• Develop and implement a measurable individualized plan of care within the timeframe established by Nursing Standards of Care.
• Make comprehensive nursing decisions based on the interpretation of facts and evaluations of patient outcomes; modify the plan of care based on evaluations.
• Participate in patient/significant other health education and discharge planning.
• Implement and document timely interventions appropriate to patient needs.
• Evaluate the plan of care and perform various Point of Care testing procedures.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current New Mexico RN license or current Compact state license.
• BLS Certification from AHA required.
• ACLS Certification from AHA required.
• PALS Certification from AHA required.
• TNCC or ATCN certification required.
• CPI/De-Escalation certification preferred.
• Graduate of an accredited program for Registered Nursing.
• Current knowledge and skills appropriate to age/type of patient population served.
