Operating Room Registered Nurse - Travel Contract

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Days, 6:30 AM - 7:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a requirement for on-call and holiday shifts.

Job Description

The Operating Room Circulator Nurse provides comprehensive perioperative nursing care across a broad range of surgical specialties including General Surgery, Orthopedics, Gynecology, Robotics, Urology, Hand Surgery, and Podiatry. The role is focused on coordinating and managing patient care throughout the intraoperative phase, ensuring patient safety, regulatory compliance, and efficient surgical workflow. This position requires exceptional adaptability, strong clinical judgment, and extensive knowledge of various surgical procedures, techniques, instrumentation, and technology.

Responsibilities

• Patient assessment and advocacy
• Surgical case preparation
• Equipment and supply management
• Documentation and specimen handling
• Medication administration
• Coordination of multidisciplinary team activities

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• 2+ years of OR nursing experience
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification preferred
• Experience in General, Ortho, OBGYN, Robotics, Urology, Hand, and Podiatry surgery
• Fingerprinting required for all New Mexico travelers
