Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift

Night shift: 3 x 12-hour shifts.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by ensuring the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees while embracing the core values of the organization, which emphasize superior quality and patient safety.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission.
• Identify and address teaching needs related to each patient's diagnosis.
• Provide timely patient information for initial and re-evaluation team conferences.
• Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in the medical record.
• Participate in the patient rehabilitation program and ensure comprehensive care.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching upon admission.
• Communicate pertinent information regarding patient status changes to care providers.
• Provide direction and supervision to ancillary nursing personnel.
• Maintain personal and environmental safety in compliance with hospital policies.
• Contribute positively to unit functioning and promote teamwork.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification is required prior to the first shift.
• ACLS Certification is required prior to the first shift (CIRH ONLY).
• Minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience is highly desired.
