Shift: 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM, every other weekend required, no call, assistance with holidays.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse in the MedSurg/Telemetry Step-Down unit will focus on delivering patient safety and care in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing ED decompression and enhanced throughput. The unit handles a wide array of diagnoses and aims to complete admission assessments, medication reconciliation, and initiate acute care orders efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care in the MedSurg/Telemetry Step-Down unit.
• Conduct admission assessments and medication reconciliation for new patients.
• Initiate acute care orders as per physician guidelines.
• Collaborate with a healthcare team for optimal patient outcomes.
• Assist in floating to units within skill set as needed.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years recent experience in MedSurg, Telemetry (remote), and Step-Down (PCU) required.
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS.
• Positive attitude and focus on teamwork essential.
• Charge Nurse experience preferred, or willingness to develop skills in this area.
