Job Description

The Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist independently performs imaging procedures utilizing established scan protocols. This role requires sound judgment, ingenuity, and initiative to utilize prescribed ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes.

Responsibilities

• Independently performs computed tomography procedures, including contrast administration.
• Utilizes complex imaging equipment for acquiring, analyzing, reconstructing, and documenting image data.
• Demonstrates proficiency in venipuncture and power injector use following established protocols.
• Administers various contrast media per physician orders and assesses patients for potential risk factors.
• Communicates effectively with patients and co-workers, exemplifying caring and respect.
• Identifies all patients using two patient identifiers and adheres to universal protocols.
• Documents patient history in electronic records as required, ensuring proper coding and tracking of exams.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Graduate of an ARRT approved school of Radiologic Technology or completion of accredited CNMT program.
• CT registry must be obtained within 18 months of acquiring the primary registry or date of hire if already obtained.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role is required.
• ARRT Certificate and Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification (NMTC) are necessary.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
• Compliance with Pennsylvania state Acts 31, 33, 34, and 73 is required.
